Amnesia for Organizations

When we were designing Amnesia based on OpenID and Gmail accounts, we were aware that all gmail id do not end with gmail.com. Google Apps could give you account names based on your organization's domain name. How do we enable Amnesia for people who have such accounts?

We thought we would procrastinate until a real query comes up. And it came up on second day of our launch itself. So now we need to act. But before we do that, we need to verify each domain based on request. So if your organization is using Google Apps and you are interested in using Amnesia, please write to us at our contact email address or put a comment here. We will soon get you on Amnesia.

Amnesia invitation mail goes to spam

We note that the invitation mails coming from AMNESIA AT CDACBANGALORE IN sometimes directly land into spam folder.

If you are expecting an invitation from Amnesia and haven't got it even after couple of days of requesting it, check the spam folder of your GMail Account. You can search for it using the search string

in:anywhere from:*.cdacbangalore.in

Most probably you will find it there.

The advantages of OpenID.

In Amnesia we decided to use OpenID and GMail for user authentication primarily for following reasons.

1. We could concentrate on functionality of Amnesia Toolbar than do user profile management which thousand other service providers are doing better and offering for free.
2. We did not require much info from the user except her/his GMail ID so that we could keep in touch if required.
3. We would be more than glad even if we are able to get even a negligible fraction of number of GMail users on Amnesia.
   
4. From our user's point of view, they do not have to bother with remembering passwords either.
   
5. And we got rid of all security add-ons to our user management like secret questions, capthca etc.
   

Simple. So have a Gmail ID? Get a direct access to Amnesia system. Else spend some time and get one from here. After all you can always do with another 7 GB of mail storage ;).

Past one month we have been busy packaging Amnesia, a collaborative web-page annotation tool. Today we are glad to release the beta.
